Bad hair bandits plead not guilty in federal court

A jury trial for Jason Fox and Tasha K. Fox, was scheduled for April 30 in U.S. District Court in London.

They were sent back to jail after they pleaded not guilty to an eight count indictment filed on Feb. 23.

Jason Fox was charged in the first count with taking about $4,587 from the Commercial Bank in Barbourville on June 17, 2011.

 Together they were charged in four counts.

July 7, in McCreary County they took about $20,688 from the Bank of McCreary in Pine Knot.

Aug. 19, $28,966 was taken from the Forcht Bank in Barbourville.

On Oct. 25, they took about $2,775 from Hometown Bank in Corbin.

And on Dec. 1, $3,270 was taken from the L&N Federal Credit Union in Williamsburg.

Count six charges the pair with with carrying a firearm in Whitley County. Count seven charges that Jason Fox alone carried a firearm in Whitley County.

And count eight charges that Jason Fox had prior been convicted in court for imprisonment of a term more than one year after using a firearm in interstate commerce.

While police searched for those responsible for the robberies, the culprit was dubbed “The Bad Hair Bandit” since he wore wigs during the robberies.
