Two-vehicle crash slows traffic along U.S. 25E

CORBIN — Traffic was slowed along U.S. 25E near its intersection with KY 830 about 8:30 a.m. Thursday after a crash involving a pickup and a tractor trailer. According to Kentucky State Police Post 10-Harlan Trooper Jay Sowders, the crash happened as Christopher Hensley, 23, of Gray, drove a black Dodge Dakota pickup south on U.S. 25E.

Hensley said he didn’t see the red light because of the fog and wasn’t able to stop at the intersection. Hensley struck the left side of the tractor trailer, which was driven by Ernest Maggard, no age available, of London, as Maggard crossed the highway turning north.

Hensley had a minor head injury.

In addition to the fog, Sowders said wet roads were also a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
