Laurel man charged on bench warrant

CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

An East Bernstadt man was arrested Tuesday and charged on a bench warrant, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Donald Johnson, 25, was observed walking on KY 90 in seven-degree temperatures when Deputy Mikey Ashurst stopped to check on his well being, Root said.

Upon investigation, Ashurst learned that Johnson was wanted on a Laurel County bench warrant for public intoxication-controlled substances.

Ashurst arrested Johnson and he was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
