London woman arrested for manufacturing meth

CORBIN — By Michele Baker / Staff Writer

A London woman was arrested for manufacturing and trafficking in methamphetamine Tuesday afternoon, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Deputies arrested Jennifer Cain, 37, after investigating a complaint of possible meth making at a residence on Philpot Road, one mile south of London.

Deputies found an active one-step meth lab at the house, along with a substantial amount of finished meth, scales, baggies and over $1,000 in cash, Root said.

Cain was charged with first-degree manufacturing methamphetamine and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Cain was transported to the Laurel County Detention Center where she remains on a $50,000 cash bond.

Detective Billy Madden continues the investigation into this case and more suspects are being sought.

Assisting Madden in the investigation were Root, Chief Deputy Eddie Sizemore, Detective Brad Mitchell and Sergeants Greg Poynter, Rodney Vanzant, and E.R. Rudder.

Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Director Abbey Hale and Brad Smith assisted in the decontamination at the scene.
