Some records currently housed at Corbin High School will soon be destroyed. As a result, the school district is asking anyone who wants a copy to contact them before Dec. 7.
The school district is doing this action in accordance with Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives records retention guidelines.
The records that will be destroyed are cumulative records for students who attended Corbin Independent Schools prior to 2009.
In a news release Monday, the Corbin school district said “cumulative records” may include various test scores, report cards, activity participation sheets, enrollment forms, shot records, birth certificate copy, Social Security card copy, recommendations records, special education due process records, and other forms.
If you need a copy of your records before they’re destroyed, you must contact Corbin High School at 606-528-3902, no later than Friday, Dec. 7.
After calling to schedule a pickup, your records may be obtained with positive identification between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. from Dec. 10-14.
This reminder from the school district — high school transcripts with student name, dates of attendance, Grade Point Average (GPA), classes taken, grades and years completed are permanently retained by the Corbin Independent Schools.
