London woman arrested at Bush Elementary School Tuesday

CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

An intoxicated woman was arrested at Bush Elementary School Tuesday.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Turner, along with London Police Department Sgt. Mike Holiday responded to a 911 complaint at the school.

Holiday is also a Laurel County School Resource Officer.

School Principal Lisa Sibert told dispatchers that a parent at her school was causing a disturbance about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

When officers arrived on the school’s campus, they observed a woman extremely intoxicated.

Upon further investigation, they learned she had taken pain medication as well as methadone.

Law enforcement handcuffed Margie Dezarn, 31, of London. She now faces charges of public intoxication through controlled substances. She remains jailed in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
