Berea Country Dancers coming to Laurel Library

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Special to The Times-Tribune

The world-touring Berea Country Dancers will perform at the Laurel County Public Library from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday.  Berea’s Country Dance Band will play live music as the dancers perform a variety of dances.

These dances will demonstrate the similarities between local dances and their European counterparts.  This includes English country dances and American contra dances, Morris and sword dances from the British Isles, dances from Denmark and of course, the old time Appalachian square dance.

The Berea Country Dancers are full-time students from varying disciplines at Berea College who dedicate themselves to the group and share their passion of dance with others. Registration is appreciated for planning purposes.

Register online at or, for more information, call Gwen or Magen at 606-864-5759. In case of bad weather, check Facebook or call the library at 606-864-5759 for cancellation information. The library is located at 120 College Park Drive, which is off the Hwy. 192 bypass in London.
