LAUREL COUNTY —
A Laurel County man was killed Thursday in what was initially reported as a stabbing, according to Doug Bowling, Laurel County coroner.
Clint Howard, 60, of Campbell Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, Bowling said.
The coroner explained that while the death is considered a homicide, it could not be determined until after an autopsy if Howard did in fact die from a stab wound.
An autopsy is slated for Friday in Frankfort.
Bowling added that two other people were at home at the time of the "altercation," which reportedly led to Howard's death.
A female who was present was detained and taken in for questioning — a man, considered "a person of interest," is still being sought by law enforcement, the coroner explained. No one else was injured, he added.
Bowling was unclear as to the relationship between the three people.
Bowling and the Laurel County Sheriff's Office continue their investigation and remained at the scene until after 9 p.m. Thursday.
