W’burg father, daughter arrested over fake money

A Williamsburg father and his daughter were indicted in U.S. District Court in London Wednesday on charges the two were involved in a counterfeiting scheme in Whitley County.
Authorities allege David Vincent Peace, 45, and his daughter Amanda Jo Lowrance, 25, manufactured counterfeit money out of their Williamsburg home. According to the indictment, the two allegedly manufactured one counterfeit $1 bill, one $10 and 12 $20 bills from Oct. 31, 2007 to Nov. 4, 2007.
Two counts of the indictment charge that on Nov. 4, 2007, Peace used two of the counterfeited $20 bills at the Corbin Bingo Hall.
According to the indictment, they used a Compaq Presario computer and a Hewlett-Packard Multipurpose printer to produce the fake bills.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Secret Service. An arraignment hearing for Lowrance and Peace has been set for Nov. 6 in U.S. District Court in London. If convicted, the two face up to 20 years in prison.
