Gray crash sends six to hospital

Pregnant woman flown to UK Medical Center as precaution

A Friday afternoon crash sent six people, including a pregnant woman, to three different hospitals, but all for relatively minor injuries.

According to a press release from Kentucky State Police’s Harlan Post, Cindy Gibson, 18, was traveling northbound on KY 0223 in Gray in a 2006 Pontiac Grand Am. Gibson was attempting to turn left onto U.S. 25E when she pulled into the path of Kenneth Wolff, 45, who was traveling southbound on U.S. 25E in a 2000 Dodge Stratus. Wolff struck the left front end of Gibson’s vehicle. He and his three passengers, 41-year-old Sandra Wolff, 28-year-old Tiffany Hall and 50-year-old Donna Hall, had to be extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means.

They were all transported by Knox County EMS to the Knox County Hospital in Barbourville and treated for minor injuries.

Gibson, who is pregnant, was flown by AirEvac to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington as a precautionary measure. She had non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.

The passenger in Gibson’s car, 39-year-old Virgie Ferguson, was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin and treated for injuries to her leg.

The accident closed US 25E for nearly an hour.

All involved in the wreck were wearing their seat belts.
