Whitley grand jury indicts Larry Wilson

Accused meth cook has bond revoked

By Adam S. Sulfridge / Staff Writer

A Whitley County Grand Jury returned indictments Tuesday for Larry N. Wilson, Terry J. Moore and others.

Larry Wilson, 55, of Williamsburg was indicted on charges of murder and first- degree wanton endangerment in connection with the death of Tod A. Carter, 38, of Woodbine. Police say Wilson killed Carter by firing a single shot from his 9mm pistol out the window of his tow truck while at the Root Beer Stand.

Wilson was arraigned in Circuit Court Monday.

Terry J. Moore was indicted on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and for being a persistent felony offender. Police say Moore held a female against her will in a barn where he allegedly operated three “one-step meth labs.”

According to a citation filed by Kentucky State Police Trooper Les Moses, the female indicated she had been locked in the barn for more than nine hours before she managed to escape. She claimed Moore also threatened to kill her.

Moore’s bond was initially set by District Judge Cathy Prewitt at $25,000 cash. District Judge Jason Price lowered it to a surety bond Wednesday but yesterday Circuit Judge Paul Braden revoked Moore’s bond and ordered him back into custody. After court, Moore was re-booked at the Whitley County Detention Center.

Also indicted were Woodrow Thomas, III, Yoel Perez (also known as Yoel Gonzalez), Gary T. Reynolds, Robert B. Lanham, and Jason Davis. The five were indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and first- degree criminal mischief in connection to the theft of guardrails from Elmo Greer & Sons, Inc. Although the stolen goods were in Greer & Sons’ possession, the guardrails reportedly belong to the Kentucky Cabinet of Transportation.

A true bill was also returned for the following:

• Angela D. Hensley for program assistance fraud.

• Amy J. Watts, also for program assistance fraud.

• Casey Adkins for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and for being a persistent felony offender, second-degree.

• Kimberly Ella Adams for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by unlawful taking under $500.

• Richard Jason Harmon and Eddie Daniel West for second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, third-degree burglary, and for being persistent felony offenders.

• Janet Anderson, Chad Anderson, Mattie McClure, and D. J. Carr for second-degree assault.

• William Anderson and David Worley for receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000 and second-degree criminal mischief.

• Tonya Privett and Roy Carr for theft by unlawful taking under $500 and theft by unlawful taking under $500.

• Michael Adams for second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

• James Hensley for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana under eight ounces, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

• Kevin S. Simpson for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, and being a persistent felony offender.

• Eva Marie Drury for fraudulent use of a credit card.
