Wal-Mart thieves sought

Alleged thieves sought in shoplifting of London Wal-Mart

By Brad Hicks / Staff Writer

The London Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred Monday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in London and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects.

According to police, at approximately 9 p.m. that evening, two men entered the store and took a pair of bolt cutters from a shelf. They then pushed two shopping carts to the electronics department, where the men loaded them with two Dell computers. They also took two Black and Decker tool sets.

The men then pushed the carts to the Lawn and Garden department where they used the bolt cutters to cut the lock on the fence and opened the sliding gate. They then pushed one of the carts out to their vehicle and left the parking lot.

One suspect is described as a bald male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 210 pounds. He is believed to be in his late 30s to 40s with tattoos on his left arm. Police said this suspect cut his arm when cutting the lock. At the time of the theft, he was wearing khaki shorts and a “bluish” short sleeve shirt.

The second suspect is described as a male with short brown hair, approximately 5’10” to 6 feet tall and weighing around 190 pounds. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a white shirt with a “Chopper” logo on front. The shirt has a blue trim around the neck and sleeves. He was also wearing black short pants with a white stripe and sandals.

The two men drove a silver van that appears to be a 2000 to 2003 model Dodge Caravan.

Anyone with any information on the theft or the individuals involved is encouraged to contact the London Police Department at (606) 878-7004 or London-Laurel Dispatch at (606) 878-7000 if after hours.
