Auditions today for ‘Christmas Belles’

The Belle Bennett Players will come together in Christian Ministry with the Bennett Center of London to present “Christmas Belles,” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten in early November.

It’s Christmas-time down in Texas and Honey Raye’s production of “Bethlehem A-Palooza” is spiraling into chaos. Santa Claus is passing a kidney stone. One of the shepherds refuses to watch over his flock without pulling his little red wagon behind him. The entire cast is dropping like flies due to food poisoning from the Band Boosters Pancake Supper. Add to that a moving delivery of “The Christmas Story,” a cop, a con and a can of worms opened on opening night and you’ve got a Christmas program the townsfolk will never forget.

Auditions for “Christmas Belles” will be held Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Belle Bennett Fine Arts Center. The cast calls for 11 adults, seven women and four men. Technical and stage crews are needed as well. No experience is necessary but a sense of humor, sunny smile, and a spirit of adventure is required.
