Police find missing man’s car

Still no sign of Jeremy Johnson, who’s been missing from his Woodbine home for more than a month

The vehicle of a Woodbine man who has been missing for more than a month was found by law enforcement officials Wednesday in Knox County.

The 1993 Chevy Cavalier Station Wagon of Jeremy Johnson was located on Kentucky 459, which is located off Kentucky 6, according to family friend Jamie Brown, who created and has been maintaining the Web site, www.myspace.com/whereisjeremyjohnson.

“It was kind of off the beaten path,” she said. “It was stuffed in a four-wheeler holler, kind of.”

Brown said the vehicle was found about four miles from Johnson’s home and that she was told by Johnson’s father, Kenneth Johnson, that the vehicle had been discovered at around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Kenneth Johnson, Jeremy Johnson was last seen leaving Angels & Wings Restaurant in Corbin on June 10 in the station wagon that was found Wednesday.

Since that time, area law enforcement have searched rural areas in Knox and Whitley counties based on tips about where Johnson’s body may be found.

The case is still listed as that of a missing person.

Knox County Sheriff John Pickard confirmed that Johnson’s vehicle had been located, but could not give further details at press time.
