Meth lab found on Lily road

About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Laurel County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men and a woman found at an outdoor methamphetamine lab.
According to Deputy Jason Back, the department got a tip that the lab was in operation on an abandoned and overgrown road near Rita Lane in Lily.
He said when he and deputies James Sizemore and Sgt. Josh Gaylor arrived, they found a so-called one-step lab in the process of making the drug.
Freddie Farmer Jr., 28, of Rita Lane, Lily; Brittany Morris, 18, of East KY 552, Keavy; and Gregory Bateman, of East KY 552, Keavy, were each charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and were arrested at the lab location without incident, stated a report from the sheriff’s office.
They were taken to the Laurel County jail, and arraignment is scheduled for Friday.
The report stated Morris was also arrested on a failure to appear warrant stemming from an earlier indictment also charging her with making methamphetamine. Farmer was also charged on two failure to appear warrants.
Back said it took Laurel County public safety personnel more than two hours to clean the area and dispose of the materials.
