B'ville man found not-guilty of child’s rape

A Barbourville man who was accused of four counts of raping a child was found not guilty on all counts by a Knox County jury Monday evening.
Thomas Adams had been indicted in December on four counts of first-degree rape with a victim under the age of 12. No specific dates were given for the charges, which the indictment alleged occurred in September, October, November and December of 1997 with a girl who was at the time 7-years-old.
Adams had entered a not guilty plea on Dec. 7, 2007.
His trial lasted one day.
