A Barbourville woman was killed as the result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Knox County.
Janet V. Sizemore, of Farmer Lane in Barbourville, was taken to Knox County Hospital following the accident, where she passed away from injuries received as a result of the accident.
According to police, Sizemore crossed the center line on Kentucky 225 and struck a vehicle driven by Earl Jones, of Woolum. The three passengers in Jones’ vehicle were also transported to the Knox County Hospital and treated for various injuries. All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts and airbags were deployed.
Deputy Roy Gambrel is investigating the accident and was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Randy Clark of the Barbourville Police Department, member of the Artemus Fire Department, as well as Knox County Emergency Medical Service.
