Members of the London Police Department, the Department of Public Safety and the London City Fire Department were called out late Friday morning to the London National Guard, located behind Lee’s Chicken, to investigate an “unspecified threat.”
Authorities were dispatched at around 11:23 a.m. to the National Guard location. London Police Sgt. Derek House said the threat appeared to be a personal matter. According to police, an acquaintance of a Guard employee received a call from someone making threats against the employee.
“It was not necessarily a threat against the Kentucky National Guard,” House said.
The immediate area was evacuated and emergency personnel performed a search of the area. Nothing was found.
“It was unsubstantiated,” House said, but the investigation is continuing.
