Kindness is never wasted

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — The Pleasant View/Boston Family Resource Center is off to a great 2013 year.

First, we are pleased to announce Helen Daugherty as our new office manager/assistant. She has always been there to provide assistance and support with sponsored programs and activities and now is an official part of the team.

We would also like to send our warmest appreciation and regards to the area’s Methodist Church, Pastor Bruce Lee and the congregation for their continued support and generosities.

Collaboration between the Methodist Church and the Resource Center has enabled students and families to benefit from a Backpack Program. Church members prepare weekly food bags for students to take home, which are both needed and appreciated by family members. Bonnie Bishop, a very special lady, volunteers to deliver the bags to the Resource Center for distribution every week. Such compassion and service to others should never go unnoticed.

Approximately 104 families benefited from this collaboration during the past holiday season, and we would like to thank everyone who helped: Methodist Church, Williamsburg Nursing Home, Wal-Mart Vision Center and the Whitley County High School FFA students.

Without your help, it would not have been possible.

Della Rose,

Pleasant View and Boston Elementary
