Christian Care Communities gives thanks to celebration participants

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Christian Care Community in Corbin held our Service of Remembrance and Celebration last week. It was a wonderful service with various elements that made it special, and it would not have been possible without the assistance of people in this community.

On behalf of Christian Care Communities, thank you to all who participated. The event was for the family and friends of our former residents who died in the past half year, and because of volunteers who shared their talent, it was rich in meaning and provided comfort for those in attendance.

Thank you to the many volunteers who helped before, during and after the program. A special word of thanks for the gifted musicians who shared their music with us — Ron Green of Central Baptist Church and Verna Mac Kenzie of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We also were blessed to have SFC Steve Lundy and the ROTC Color Guard present to honor our veterans.

As we approach National Nursing Home Week I would like to extend our deep appreciation for all of our volunteers; pastors and churches and individuals who provide services, singing and visits to our residents. The time you spend here makes a difference to our residents, and we hope it does to you as well. God bless you for what you do, and who you are!

Sincerely,

Chaplain Joan Schlesing
