Group gears up to bring smiles to our troops

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — As we prepare for the upcoming Christmas mail campaign, Mail for Our Military would like to extend special thanks to those who participated in the most recent campaign:

—Steele’s Chapel Christian Church. Led by Lisa Bates and Sherry Snyder. This church was the number one church in Kentucky and in the top 10 nationally.

—DAV Auxiliary Keavy Unit 158. Led by Rachel M. O’Connor of London, they were the top DAV Auxiliary nationally.

—American Legion Auxiliary Unit 88. Led by Brenda J. Berry, this was the top American Legion Auxiliary in Kentucky with participants from Corbin and Lily as well as from Jacksonville, Fla.

Cards and letters are received from all across the nation, mixed thoroughly before being divided into hundreds of packages, both large and small, then sent to military units across the U.S. and around the world.

As the continuation of the Vietnam Mail Call project which was launched in 1965, this mail has been bringing smiles to our men and women in uniform for almost a half-century.

Anyone who would like to know how to join the Mail for Our Military campaign can receive complete information and instructions by sending their name and mailing address to P.O. Box 100, New Madrid, MO 63869. The troops will thank you, and so do we.
