Thanks to Pleasant View for election day hospitality

CORBIN — I am an election officer who worked the special election Tuesday at Pleasant View Elementary School. I would like to take the time to thank Principal Bobby Blakely, his staff and teachers. They invited us to eat at their potluck dinner during the election. This might not sound like much, but election officers often have no money to get food or eat cold food out of a can, or have no time to get food during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

From the election officers of Pleasant View and Saxton, a big thanks for the hot meal to Principal Blakely and staff at Pleasant View School.

Carl Marple, Rockholds

  • Our representatives should co-sponor the PAST Act

As a horse lover and Kentuckian, I support H.R. 1518/S. 1406, the PAST Act, which will reform the federal Horse Protection Act to end the abusive practice of soring walking horses for the sake of an exaggerated and grotesque gait.
