A thanks to those who made our open house successful

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — On Friday, August 3,the Books to Kids Reading and Tutoring Center at 510 Main Street in Williamsburg held its open house. As volunteer director of the center, I want to thank those who helped make the day a great success: the Times-Tribune and reporter Charlotte Underwood featured the center on a front page article on Tuesday, July 31; the Save-A Lot stores in Williamsburg and Corbin, the managers at the Kroger located along U.S. 25W in Corbin and the Williamsburg Walmart contributed a total of $80 for food and drinks for the event; Mark Lawson and his neighbor, Dan, put up the window tint and did it without charge; Rocky Brown gave us a great deal on the installation of a white board for tutoring; Evan at  El Dorados in Williamsburg donated the chips and salsa; and Katie Roach of WYMT from Hazard who covered the event and reported it on the 6 p.m. Mountain News. Special thanks goes to the mayor and all the residents who took the time to come down and celebrate with us.
