Big Read organizers looking for sponsors... and jugglers

Thank you for the wonderful publicity for the Big Read Program (June 24th edition of the Times-Tribune). Thanks to the effort of Marian Colette, Whitley County received one of just 208 grants from the NEA in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.

The purpose of the Big Read program is to promote literary reading among American youths and adults. Our Whitley County goal is to build a sense of community through shared reading and discussions of our selected book, “A Lesson Before Dying” by Ernest Gaines.

We plan to have reading groups and partners throughout the county.

At present we are looking for amateur jugglers as well as sponsors and readers. Please contact us if you would like to be a part of the Big Read or if your office, civic, social, educational, service, religious group or friends and neighbors would like to join us in reading this award winning book.
