About six months ago, I was headed to my home on Becks Creek Road and I noticed a crew of men picking up garbage along the road and bagging it up. Last month I saw them come up the road again doing the same thing. I noticed that they had on orange jump suits and the van was a Whitley County Detention Center van. I started asking around who was doing this and found out that Ken Mobley was putting the prisoners out to work cleaning up our county roads.
I don’t know how other people feel about this, but I think that Mobley should be recognized for his efforts in running the Whitley County Detention Center. I’m sure the inmates are glad to get out of their cells for a few hours, and this way they are paying a little for their keep.
