DQ test market

DQ Grill & Chill and Dairy Queen locations throughout greater Lexington are taking the sting out of rising gas prices, economic woes and the mortgage crunch with a new value offer designed to satisfy consumer appetites.

During the next six months, local DQ Grill & Chill and Dairy Queen locations will serve as a test market for a new menu promotion called Sweet Deals. Customers can mix and match nine menu items, choosing two for $3, three for $4 or four for $5.  There’s the world famous Dairy Queen burger, a hot dog, the new chicken wrap, French fries, onion rings, salad, beverage and a sundae or cone made with DQ’s famous soft serve with the curl on top.

“This deal gives customers permission to have a treat with a meal and at this price point, it’s a very appealing offer,” said Dairy Queen franchisee Billy Rose, who also represents this region on Dairy Queen’s Franchisee Advisory Council. “You can create a meal that’s just the right size and one that can be customized for your own tastes. It’s a win-win.”

The Lexington area was chosen as a test market because the demographics of the surrounding communities are a good fit for DQ Grill & Chill and Dairy Queen, which appeal to families with children, as well as adults who will enjoy an expanded food menu and traditional treats.  In addition the franchisees here are strong and the brand has great equity. 

“Sweet Deals is a value answer to the rising costs consumers are facing today,” said Rose.  “We have to do all we can to make the dining experience a pleasant one especially in today’s economic climate.  We want to fuel our customers’ enthusiasm for a really Sweet Deal.”
