Overflow at the falls

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN —

Visitors flocked to Cumberland Falls State Park on Tuesday morning to see massive amounts of water pour over the falls as the river neared its crest.

High water led to the closure of several areas of the park, including Moonbow Trail, Eagle Falls Trail and the Cumberland River Trail. Trails will open once again when the water level recedes, according to Cumberland Falls State Park Trail Maintenance Supervisor Pam Gibson. \

Gibson also said she plans on having a volunteer cleanup near the end of the month due to the large amount of trash and debris that has been washed into the park from upriver.
