It’s time to get on your horse and Ride for PRIDE.

Ride for PRIDE begins Wednesday and continues through Sunday, with trail rides taking place through the Daniel Boone National Forest and festivities taking place at the London Drag Way at 3385 White Oak Road in London.

Gates open at 8 a.m. Wednesday. On that day and Thursday, campers and riders are expected to “settle in” according to Tammie Wilson with Eastern Kentucky PRIDE.

The fun begins Friday with live music from bands including County Wide and Jeff Alsip and vendors of everything from tack supplies to jewelry. Vendors will be open from 5-10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Saturday will also see miniature horse rides and inflatables for children beginning at 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday will also see a silent auction.

Friday and Saturday will also see guided trail rides leaving at 10 a.m. The trail rides will begin near the London Drag Way.

The events on Friday and Saturday are for the general public and not just trail riders. However, in order to participate in the trail rides a person must bring his or her own horse.

Proceeds from Ride for PRIDE go toward PRIDE’s Spring Cleaning roadside pickup program, which Wilson said also went to improving local water quality.

“If it’s on the ground, it’s in our water,” Wilson said.

Tickets are available at the gate, and it is $20 for a weekend pass for trail riders and campers and $10 for a one-day pass to only enjoy the music and vendors. Reservations are not required. All events are planned to occur as planned rain or shine unless weather is dangerous.
