Forbes endorses Paul

FRANKFORT (AP) — Former GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes has endorsed Bowling Green eye doctor Rand Paul for Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race.

Paul’s campaign announced the endorsement Thursday.

Forbes is the president and chief executive of Forbes Media as well as the editor-in-chief of its flagship magazine Forbes.

He ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1996 and 2000. He campaigned with a platform that included a flat tax, medical savings accounts, a new Social Security system, parental choice of schools, term limits and a strong national defense.

Paul is running for the Republican nomination to replace retiring two-term Sen. Jim Bunning. He is running against Republicans Trey Grayson and Bill Johnson.
