CORBIN — By LeeAnn Cain / Staff Writer

A magistrate’s race was recanvassed Thursday morning, and the results for the race did not change for any of the candidates involved.

Following his defeat for Magistrate District 3, Rufus Fields asked the county clerk’s office to do a recanvass to confirm the vote counts.

Fields came in second, with 30 percent of the vote (673 votes), and lost to incumbent Teddy Benge, who received 32 percent of the vote (701 votes).
