See You at the Pole Rally Sept. 18

CORBIN — An exciting event for our youth is coming up but everyone is invited to participate.

First Priority Tri-County is hosting its sixth annual See You at the Pole Rally at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, and it will take place at The Arena in Corbin.

If you are unfamiliar with First Priority Tri-County, it is a student-led club which tries to offer students “a different school Spirit.” They place value in reaching students for Christ, being a Christian influence in our schools, forming a unity of churches in the community, empowering students as leaders and just reaching a generation for God.

First Priority Tri-County has clubs in eight high schools, eight middle schools and 13 intermediate schools. This past school year, they saw 275 students accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Since the organization began in 2008, they have seen more than 1,100 students get saved.

The See You at the Pole Rally has yearly been a way to get our students on fire for the annual See You at the Pole event which takes place Wednesday, Sept. 25. On that day, students gather at a flagpole in front of their school in the early morning for prayer, scripture-reading and singing.

During First Priority’s fifth annual See You at the Pole Rally last year, 2,108 people were in attendance.

The organization hopes to top that number this year.

Headlining the Rally this Wednesday is illusionist Bryan Drake from The Bryan Drake Show.

According to his website, Drake is a Christian illusionist who tours throughout the world entertaining audiences and sharing a Christ-centered message.

Using illusions and mentalism, Drake gets inside of your head. He not only entertains any group, but presents a clear message on truth.

He has shared the stage with many of today’s top speakers and artists including Remedy Drive, Jamie Grace, Jeremy Camp, Tedashii, KB, Aaron Keyes, Stellar Kart, Finding Favour, Jordan Hawerton Band, Leeland, Vota, Brock Gill, The Skit Guys, Pete Wilson, Ashes Remain and many others.

For our students, this is sure to be an event they won’t want to miss.

But for the Rally to be a truly awesome success, First Priority needs your help.

If you have a child involved with First Priority at their school or church, make sure you find a way to get them to The Arena for this fun and special time.

Or if you have a child who is not currently involved, this would be a great opportunity for them to experience what First Priority is all about, and — most importantly — to learn about Christ.

There are also many ways for adults to volunteer Wednesday for the event.

First Priority needs folks to perform duties such as working booths, greeting people as they come in, and helping with logistics.

If you are interested in volunteering, there are several ways to contact First Priority Tri-County. You can email carmen@studentsreachstudents.com, call 606-521-6007 or visit their website at studentsreachstudents.com

If you are unable to attend or volunteer, please be sure to keep the Rally and First Priority in your prayers.

We so desperately need to see a movement of God among our students, and the See You at the Pole Rally is going to be an excellent opportunity to see that happen.
