Grace on the Hill’s inaugural Kidz Blitz Live event a hit

For the first time, Grace on the Hill Methodist Church in Corbin played host to the Kidz Blitz Live event which was filled with games and fun.

Terri Stepeck, who is the children’s pastor at Grace on the Hill, said she saw the event at other churches and, after moving to the Corbin area, thought it would it be ideal to bring to Grace on the Hill.

“So I came up here and told them I really wanted to bring it up here,” she said.

The event also christened in the recently completely children’s area, called Faith Junction, at the church. Stepeck said it was the first big event held there since the wing was completed last November.

“We’re just thrilled to see this place packed,” Stepeck said.

Stepeck said the target audience for Wednesday’s Kidz Blitz, which was open to the public, was not necessarily children who are already involved with Grace on the Hill, but all children in the area. Children ages 4 to 13 were invited to attend.

“This is community outreach for us,” she said. “We were specifically seeking unchurched children. We were after kids who don’t have a church home.”

The event was also the church’s way of ushering in their fall season with a bang. Beginning next Wednesday, Grace on the Hill will hold its KFC, which stands for Kids For Christ, weekly ministries which Stepeck said “are almost as crazy, not quite as elaborate, but just as loud” as the Kidz Blitz event was.

Stepeck added that the Kidz Blitz was very successful and served as a fantastic opportunity for the children in attendance to have fun and learn a few lessons from the Bible in the process.

“It doesn’t get much better than that,” she said.
