United in prayer

By Sean Bailey / Staff Writer

Members of the Corbin community gathered in Nibroc Park Thursday afternoon for the National Day of Prayer.

Those who gathered were led in prayer by several community members. Included were retired Major General Donald Storm, who prayed for the military and the “work they are doing for freedom.”

South Elementary principal, Bill Jones led the crowd in prayer for the area and country’s education system. Corbin Mayor Willard McBurney led the group in prayer for the city government.

Prayers were also said for the media, churches and their pastors, families and the nation as a whole.
