Cumberland Valley National Bank announces renovation, consolidation plans

CORBIN — By Becky Killian

Managing Editor

Cumberland Valley National Bank & Trust announced Wednesday it will renovate its Falls Road location in Corbin in part to accommodate the relocation of its downtown main office.

Jim Tatum, the bank's chief executive officer, made the announcement, explaining the renovations will begin soon and are expected to be completed by the end of the year. At that time, the downtown branch will close and the 10,000 square-foot building will be placed on the market.

Planned renovations to the Falls Road branch include both interior and exterior work. Tatum said the branch will remain open while the work is done.

Once the consolidation is finished, the bank will have two Corbin locations rather than the current three. All employees currently at the downtown office will move to the Falls Road branch.

Tatum said the updates will "enhance" the bank's services and update its facilities to better accommodate modern banking technology.
