Sofcoast, Inc. names Swanson executive vice president

Company’s newest executive VP visits Corbin headquarters, Corbin, KY

Sofcoast, Inc., whose corporate headquarters is located at 100 N. Main Street, Suite 201, Corbin, is announced that Scott Swanson, originally from Minnesota, has joined the Sofcoast team as executive vice president effective June 20. Within this role, Swanson will be leading business development, program management and government programs for the corporation.

Swanson served as an officer in the United States Air Force (USAF) for 20 years in various roles including special operations and combat rescue, mission planning, mission management, program/project management, Department of Defense acquisition and flight test and evaluation.

Swanson is a USAF command pilot with over 3,000 hours in both helicopters and UAVs, within the Rescue, Special Operations and special reconnaissance mission communities.

Swanson was appointed Deputy Commander of Detachment 4 of the BIG SAFARI program office (Predator/Reaper UAS) where he led a team of 32 engineers, logisticians, technical writers, communications technicians, sensor operators and maintenance troops providing cradle-to-grave program management. He also commanded combat missions including weapons deployment in multiple theaters of operation using systems still undergoing test and development in support of the president’s number one national target set.

Swanson has most recently been using his skills and experience assisting small companies develop their business including local, state and federal contracting, commercial opportunities and program/project management strategies and execution.

Swanson has a Bachelors of Applied Science-Aviation Management from the University of Minnesota and is a certified Program Management Professional (DAWIA Level II) and Project Management Professional.

Swanson paid a visit to the Corbin offices July 26-28 and met with Board of Directors member John Bill Keck and Sofcoast’s local manufacturing partners as part of an ongoing project.
