London law firm hires new associate

Jensen, Cessna, Benge & Webster is pleased to announce that Ashlee D. Smith has joined the London law firm as an associate.

Smith joined the firm in August as a law clerk and was promoted to associate after being sworn in the Kentucky Bar Association in October. She is focusing her practice on civil and criminal litigation in all fields, including real estate, banking, family law, and others. Smith earned her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Fla., where she participated in the mock trial team, competing in mock trial competitions in Atlanta, Tampa and Miami. She served as an officer in the American Association of Justice, a national group that promotes justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims’ rights, and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and individual safety.

During law school, she interned for Jensen, Cessna, Benge & Webster each summer. Before law school she served as an intern in Washington, D.C., in the office of Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers.

In 2005, she obtained her B.A. in political science and psychology, from Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands.)  During college she coached and participated in the Cumberland College Dance Team and served three years as a “Star” to freshman students in a mentoring program.

Smith resides in Barbourville and coaches the Knox Central High School Dance Team and assists the Knox Central Middle School Dance Team.

With five attorneys, Jensen, Cessna, Benge & Webster offers a full range of legal services including all types of civil and criminal litigation, personal injury claims, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, Social Security disability, real estate, commercial banking, corporate transactions, estate planning and administration, insurance law, family law, mediation services; bankruptcy, and coal, oil and natural gas matters.
