Brandeis celebrates 100 years

City leaders met with workers from the Brandeis construction and mining equipment company on Friday to celebrate the business’ 100th year.

“This is just a great opportunity to say thank you to the city and our faithful customers. Not many companies make it 100 years and we have them to thank,” Gene Snowden Jr., president and CEO of Brandeis said.

Brandeis has 12 locations throughout Kentucky and Indiana and specializes in selling, servicing and renting mining and construction equipment. Brandeis is the sister company of Bramco, which won the 2000 Governor’s Gold Quality Award.

Larry Freeman, branch manager at the company’s North Corbin location, said the company opened the Corbin location in the early 1990s due to the great demand for equipment needed in the area.
