Breaking News - Fire destroys three houseboats at Holly Bay Marina

CORBIN —

By Jeff Noble / Staff Writer

Three houseboats were totally destroyed at Holly Bay Marina in Laurel County when a fire broke around 6:30 a.m. today.

Bald Rock and Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene. Bald Rock’s fireboat towed the three big houseboats from the marina to the ramp to protect other boats in the marina.

Four other boats received very moderate cosmetic damage, according to Bald Rock Fire Chief Doug Creech, and apparently no one was on either of the boats at the time the fire broke out.

The state arson investigator is currently on the scene.
