CORBIN — By Becky Killian / Editor
One man was taken to the hospital following an explosion at Gray Metal Company Thursday morning, according to a company employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The explosion happened about 11:30 a.m. as Mike Cima was using a cutting torch on a barrel that contained acetone. The acetone ignited and caused an explosion that could be heard up to 500 yards away. Cima was thrown an estimated 15 feet. He was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment and the business was closed for the day.
