The man wanted in connection with Tuesday's double shooting in Woodbine has been arrested, according to Trooper First Class Walt Meachum, public affairs officer for Kentucky State Police Post 10—Harlan.
James Bargo, 57, was arrested before 11 a.m. Thursday by the Knoxville Police Department.
Police had been searching for Bargo, who reportedly shot Harold Croley, 60, of Corbin, and Charity Carter, 30, of Woodbine, about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
At the time, Croley and Carter were in an SUV in a wooded area on Cemetery Road, which is located of Hedden Flats Road in Knox County.
Bargo reportedly walked up to the SUV, shot Croley and Carter multiple times, then fled, Meachum said.
Croley and Carter, who were airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center following the shootings, remained hospitalized Thursday, Meachum said.
