CORBIN — By Becky Killian / Editor
A Corbin man died following a two-vehicle crash Thursday along U.S. 25E, according to Kentucky State Police Post 11 London Public Affairs Officer Trooper Lloyd Cochran and Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley.
The crash happened about 8 a.m. when the man, Willard H. Eaton, 77, drove a 1999 Toyota Camry from a parking lot along the highway into the path of a westbound 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven Christpher L. Davis, 27, of Guntersville, Alabama.
Eaton wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was taken to Baptist Health Corbin hospital where he was pronounced deceased by Croley.
Croley said no autopsy will be performed on Eaton, who died due to injuries sustained in the crash. Although no drug or alcohol use is suspected, toxicology will be performed.
Davis was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.
Traffic along the highway was slowed as emergency responders worked. Some traffic heading west from the intersection of U.S. 25E and U.S. 25/London Highway was rerouted.
Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Trooper Eric Moore is leading the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Trooper Michelle Lunsford, Laurel County EMS and the West Knox Fire Department.
