CORBIN — By Charlotte Underwood/Staff Writer

A  26-year-old Canadatown woman suffered a stab wound Friday afternoon, according to Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell.

The knife injury occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m.

"What it appears to amount to is that she and her boyfriend were having problems and she went to his residence with a knife and was injured while he defended himself," Harrell said.

The woman was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center by her sister and may have been flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, according to Harrell.

There are no charges being filed at this point, but the incident is currently being investigated by Whitley County Sheriff's Deputy Cody Harrell and Lt. Bill Riley.
