Whitley County Attorney Paul Winchester has filed to run for the 34th Judicial Circuit Court Judge's seat, according to the Kentucky Secretary of State's records.

Winchester's name will appear on the November general election ballot in both McCreary and Whitley counties.

The seat is vacant due to the June 3 death of Judge Paul Braden, who was halfway through his eight-year term, according to Whitley County Clerk Kay Schwartz.
