Drug arrest made at Laurel County Judicial Center
At the Laurel County Judicial Center Wednesday, Court Security Officers Shane Lynch and Larry Walls discovered a subject trying to enter the building at the security screening area with a white powder.
Robert G. Walgenbach III, 21, of London, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication by Sheriff Cpl. Derrick Price.
He was taken to the Laurel County Corrections Center.
Found on him was a straw containing white powder in a Marlboro cigarette box.
Bailiff Kyle Gray assisted in the investigation.
Three vehicles collide on I-75 north of London
At about noon Wednesday, two commercial vehicles and one automobile were involved in a collision heading south at the 50 mile marker on I-75 north of London.
According to Steve Douglas, Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement officer, Officer Duffy Sutton reported that when he and other officers responded they found that Marvin Kirby, 44, of Orlando, Ky., driving a 1995 Mercury had collided with a tractor trailer vehicle.
That tractor-trailer, was driven by Mark D. Collier, 47, of Knoxville.
Sutton said it was forced into a tractor-trailer also from Knoxville, driven by George Hale, 49, of Rogersville, Tenn.
Kirby was air lifted from the scene and taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
CVE personnel at the scene were Sgt. Mike Taylor, Officers David Burton and Randy Rader, The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department, Laurel County Emergency Management and Ambulance Inc.
Sutton continues the investigation.
