Pistol pointed near Corbin’s Walmart
In the early hours of Friday the Laurel County Sheriff’s office arrested a Knox County man for possessing a handgun and a Laurel County woman for carrying a concealed weapon.
About 1 a.m. Deputy Kirk Mays was on routine patrol in the U.S. 25E area near the Walmart store.
An employee flagged him down and reported a woman was spotted getting out of a pickup truck and pointing a pistol in another person in another vehicle.
Mays found the Chevrolet S-10 pickup and investigated.
Under the seat was a 9 mm Ruger semi-automatic pistol, Mays reported.
The driver, Garrett L. Brown, 39, of Dewitt, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, driving under the influence and reckless driving on a suspended license.
The passenger, Paula J. Jackson, 38, of Corbin was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and public intoxication.
Both were taken to the Laurel County Corrections Center.
Man arrested on Laurel County Court Road
Thursday at 12:05 a.m. Branstein M. Schell, 19, of London was arrested by Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Reeves.
Reeves got a complaint on Court Road, a mile south of London.
When he ago there Reeves learned that Schell had been involved in an argument with a woman at the home.
During the investigation Schell tried to flee and was arrested for alcohol intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
He was taken to the Laurel County Corrections Center.
