Laurel indictments April 19, 2008

Indictments handed down for several involved in roundup

At least four of the eight arrested in a late March drug roundup conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff’s office were indicted Friday by a grand jury in Laurel County Circuit Court.

Information on the alleged drug traffickers was compiled over the course of months of investigation and controlled buys of controlled substances by law enforcement officers.

Among those indicted Friday as a result of the roundup were: Elizabeth Pauline Helton, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense, trafficking in a legend drug first offense; Ervel Wayne Yocum, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (two counts); Dianne O’ Dell, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense; and Ursula Boshers (AKA Ursula Woods), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense.

The grand jury also returned the following the indictments:

• Lowell Floyd, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense

• Jake Edward Bowling, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense

• Nicholas Coffey, second-degree forgery, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, second-degree persistent felony offender

• Robert Layton, Jr., program assistance fraud

• Roger D. Creech, first-degree possession of a controlled substance second offense, trafficking marijuana second offense, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance second offense, first-degree possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree trafficking in a legend drug

• Genela Vestal, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense, trafficking in marijuana first offense, first-degree possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree trafficking in a legend drug

• Jennifer Ray Snyder, theft of identity, fraudulent use of credit cards more than $100 (four counts), second-degree persistent felony offender

• Kristin Marie Ferguson, theft of identity, fraudulent use of credit cards more than $100 (four counts)

• Terry Hubbard, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary

• Allen Smith, complicity to fraud/false statement for prescription first offense, possession of a forged prescription first offense, fraudulent/false statement for prescription, second-degree persistent felony offender

• Melissa Smith, complicity to fraud/false statement for prescription first offense

• Rodney D. Jones and Terry Hubbard, receiving stolen property more than $300, second-degree burglary (two counts), first-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking more than $300 (two counts)

• Eric Parsons, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking more than $300

• Charles Clontz, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense, first-degree driving under the influence, no log book

• Lisa Honeycutt (aka Lisa Knaus), first-degree possession of controlled substance second-offense, theft by unlawful taking less than $300

• Kenneth Johnson, fraudulent use of credit cards more than $100 (three counts), theft by unlawful taking less than $300, first-degree persistent felony offender

• Bobby Belcher, fraudulent use of credit cards more than $100 (three counts), theft by unlawful taking less than $300

• Carlon Sue McFarland, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (three counts), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (three counts), first-degree possession of a controlled substance second offense, possession of marijuana second offense, possession of firearm by a convicted felon

• Wesley Mattingly, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (two counts), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (three counts), first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense, possession of marijuana first offense

• Cindy Simmons, second-degree possession of a forged instrument (two counts)

• Daniel Hensley, flagrant non support

• Gregory Schneider, flagrant non support

• Travis Ray Stacy, first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking more than $300, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault

The following cases were continued by the grand jury:
