Whitley County indictments

By Sean Bailey / Staff Writer

Two men allegedly involved the stabbing of Charles Frazier on March 28, were indicted by a Whitley County grand jury Monday.

George A. Damron, and Dwayne Cox were indicted for first-degree assault.

According to witnesses there had been an ongoing domestic dispute between the victim’s son, Joe Frazier, and Angela Canada. A verbal argument broke out between Canada and Joe Frazier in Canada’s front yard early on March 28. At some point Damron and Cox blocked White Loop Road in Williamsburg to prevent the Fraziers from leaving the scene. Witnesses said a fight ensued and Charles Frazier was stabbed in the chest several times and his throat was cut. Joe Fraizer also sustained injuries, but was treated and released from the hospital.

Cox was arrested the day of the incident, March 28, but Damron could not initially be found by authorities. After receiving tips from a confidential informant sheriff’s deputies found him hiding in a trailer on Bee Creek Road. Damron was also charged with possession of schedule two narcotics when police found drugs on his person.
